Our Dream
A glimpse of who we are..
Perry and Nancy Hughes have hearts for loving kids. It is the drive behind all that they do at IGA Adventure Center. They started with a dream of working together as a couple in an environment where they could raise their own children present in the day to day of their work. They started with a dream of providing a service to the community where children would be built up, encouraged, challenged and given opportunities for growth, character building and FUN!!!!!!!
“So many of the fundamental truths and processes in gymnastics are truths and processes for life. I love teaching gymnastics because it gives me the opportunity to teach life lessons to kids and staff. Lessons like: overcoming fear, discipline and hard work will produce results, attitude is everything, the importance of goal setting, and so much more. I also love it because it is FUN! It’s just plain fun to fly through the air and to be upside down!” -Mr. Perry
Our History
A little about where we came from..
Nancy was a competitive gymnast through level 7 and has been coaching gymnastics since the age of 14. For Nancy, the majority of her life has been about teaching, inspiring, spotting, encouraging, disciplining, walking through life with children while using the sport of gymnastics as an opportunity to pour out into the lives of others. Nancy graduated from Brevard College with a degree in Exercise Science and a minor in Wilderness Leadership and Experiential Education. Nancy is USAG safety certified, Red cross instructor certified, CPR and first aid certified.
Perry learned gymnastics as a child in Greensboro, NC at TumbleBees. He was coached by Thomas White who is still there and currently the head team coach of their competitive program. Perry spent time in many sports growing up to eventually find his way back to gymnastics after marrying Nancy. Perry graduated from Brevard College with a degree in Wilderness Leadership and Experiential Education. Perry is USAG safety certified, CPR and first aid certified.
The Future
See where we are headed..
They both continue to find new ways to serve children and grow their business. Their desire is to create an environment and a culture at IGA Adventure Center where loving kids is the focus in each program offered whether it be gymnastics, cheerleading, after school care, summer camp, rock climbing or any new program that might be on the horizon.
“We believe that serving should be the heart of any business venture and we truly consider it a blessing to serve the people of this community.” -Mr. Perry
